Mrs. Carey

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Carey

I have been employed in this district as a school nurse for 25 years.  From 1991-1998, i taught the Basic Nursing Class.  I was substitute teacher for the nursing class from 1999-2013.  Since 2013, I have been teaching Basic Nursing in the morning and then serving as district nurse.  I am an RN and certified as a school nurse (PEL/SN).  I also have a Master's Degree in Nursing Education.
I love teaching Basic Nursing, and many prior students are employed at the local hospital and nursing center.  This year, the Basic Nursing Students are required to complete 114 Theory Hours and 84 Clinical Hours.  If the students complete their hours, pass skill competency testing, and maintain a B average or higher, then they will be eligible to apply for the competency exam in May to become Certified Nursing Assistants.
